When you are drafted in Philadelphia and an Allen Iverson at the height of his glory takes you under his wing, it announces the color. From his rookie season, Lou Williams started partying. A lot. Very often. He even keeps some totally crazy stories with The Answer.
Since then, the multiple 6th man of the year has never really slowed down, and nightclubs, strip clubs and other VIP parties are the daily life of Lou Will, who himself often organizes them on the side of “LouWillVille” in Atlanta.
Caught by the patrol for dropping by a strip club in Georgia after asking to leave the NBA bubble, Williams has little remorse. He takes responsibility for his day-to-day life… and he even makes sure to protect his teammates from it. This is what he told Zach Lowe of ESPN:

Sometimes I don’t tell young players where I’m going to party at night, because they want to come with me and then they just can’t keep up. They can’t play the next day doing what I do in the evening. But I can.
We imagine that so that his teammates are in trouble 24 hours later, Williams does not drink herbal tea when he ventures into parties. But at almost 34 years old, he is still keeping pace on the floors and that is the main thing.
This season, Lou Will has averaged 18.7 points and 5.7 assists, while playing 3 minutes more on average than the previous season (29 against 26). Enough to make him a very serious candidate for what would be his 4th (!) Trophy for best 6th man of the year.
The party and Lou Williams, it’s a long love story. Doc Rivers must be relieved to see that his brilliant guard is not trying to drag his teammates into decay …
