LOT – Polish Airlines relocates to New York JFK Airport

The leading airline in Central Europe and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the operator of the airport, have reached an agreement on this after around two years of negotiations. Along with Etihad Airways and Air France, Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines will be one of the three main users of the new terminal.

The new state-of-the-art terminal is designed exclusively for international flights and will have 23 gates. It is planned to start construction of the approximately 220,000 square meter NTO this summer. The construction, which will take place in different phases – starting with a new arrivals and departures hall – is estimated at around 9.5 billion US dollars. The costs are borne by a private consortium with numerous well-known companies, including Ferrovial, Carlyle, JLC Infrastructure and Ullico. Upon final completion, scheduled for 2030, NTO will be the largest terminal at JFK Airport.

Among other things, LOT Polish Airlines will maintain its own LOT Business Lounge in the NTO. This extends over two floors and offers passengers direct access to the aircraft.

“We are very pleased to be part of this great and in many ways groundbreaking terminal,” said Rafał Milczarski, CEO and President of the Management Board at LOT Polish Airlines. “We also see this as recognition of our almost 50-year partnership with John F. Kennedy International Airport.”

Flight number LO 007 as a tribute to James Bond
LOT Polish Airlines has been flying from Warsaw to New York since 1973. In the same year, the James Bond classic “Live and Let Die” starring Roger Moore in the role of the British secret agent was released in cinemas in New York and also at JFK. Since then, the LOT Polish Airlines flight from the Polish capital to the “Big Apple” has traditionally carried the number 007.

Up-to-date information on LOT Polish Airlines flight offers is available via all common sales channels.
