It’s over for LA’s Finest
We thought the franchise Bad Boys relaunched and left to last a little while on our screens, it is ultimately nothing. After a somewhat disappointing Bad Boys 3 in the cinema (despite some great proposals at times) which was not the hoped-for cardboard, it’s the turn of L.A.’s Finest (Los Angeles Bad Girls in VF) – his spin-off in serial form to be the focus of bad news.
Deadline has just revealed the information, the detective fiction carried by Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba is now canceled, just a few weeks after the broadcast by Spectrum of the 13 episodes that made up season 2. A surprise? Not that much.
A logical cancellation
First, this famous season 2 has long been postponed this year, the fault of its police universe. Indeed, Spectrum was afraid of attracting the wrath of the public by broadcasting it at the same time as the Black Lives Matter movement was in full swing in the USA, a movement which called on police violence in particular. In addition, the channel no longer seemed to believe in the potential of this series at all. The proof, she had opted for the posting of season 2 in a single block on VOD, rather than for a classic weekly broadcast, which had however been the case for season 1.
Finally, while Fox, in search of content to block its program schedules at the start of the school year while awaiting the return of its normal series, currently paralyzed by the Covid-19, had chosen to broadcast it normally on its antenna, the series recently had a sad flop of audiences. And logically, this flop did not convince her to save her and offer her a season 3.
As a reminder, L.A.’s Finest followed the investigations of Sydney Burnett – Detective in the Los Angeles Police Department and sister of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), along with Nancy McKenna. A shock duo in the face of critical and dangerous cases, this one also had to face certain past secrets that were difficult to assume.
