Chemist Lonza won a contract from Anthos Therapeutics, a biotech company. The pharmaceutical industry supplier will support the development and manufacture of ababelacimab, an investigational product for patients with thrombotic disorders, once registration is obtained.
Financial details of the collaboration have not been released. Lonza will use its comprehensive Ibex Develop solution to support Anthos Therapeutics, a joint venture of Blackstone Life Sciences and Novartis, said a statement on Thursday.
Thrombotic disorders are the cause of one in four deaths worldwide, and one of the leading causes of death. There is a great demand for new therapies in this sector, the needs of the patients not being fully covered, says Lonza.
