Gridhot.ID – The rivalry between Bambang Trihatmodjo and the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani heating up.
The reason is, Bambang Trihatmodjo sued the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).
Bambang Trihatmodjo, as well as the son of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto, registered his lawsuit with Sri Mulyani on September 15, 2020.
The lawsuit was due to Bambang Trihatmodjo being banned from abroad in connection with the 1997 SEA Games.
Bambang asked the Jakarta PTUN panel of judges to cancel the Minister of Finance Decree No.108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated 27 May 2020.
Referring to the Decree of the Minister of Finance, Bambang was prevented from going abroad due to a state receivable problem for the implementation of the 1997 SEA Games X1X.
At that time, Bambang was the Chair of the 1997 XIX SEA Games Organizing Partner Consortium.
The Ministry of Finance under Sri Mulyani was considered very brave to face the Cendana family.
Yes, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani was considered very brave to face the former president Suharto’s family.
Because, apart from being known to be immune from the law, one of the family members had the courage to kill the judge who gave him a harsh sentence.
Long before Bambang, another Cendana prince had to face Sri Mulyani. In fact, one of Pak Harto’s children had to give up his property worth IDR 1.2 trillion confiscated by Sri Mulyani. Here is the story.
During the New Order era, a national businessman who was also the son of former President Soeharto, Tommy Soeharto, initiated a national car project called Timor.
The business entity was formed under the banner of PT Timor Putra Nasional (TPN).
Later, the national car project failed after the monetary crisis hit in 1997. Even though the TPN was no longer operating, the company still left a debt obligation to the government.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati was finally able to catch up with the debt settlement.
Quoted from the official website of the Setkab, the government managed to secure state funds worth Rp 1.2 trillion from a TPN account that was blocked at Bank Mandiri.
The Panel of Judges at the Supreme Court (MA) decided to reject the second case review (PK) filed by PT Timor Putra Nasional against the PK Case 118 decision in the North Jakarta District Court regarding the Rp 1.2 trillion blocking case at Bank Mandiri.
In the information posted on the website of the Supreme Court, it is stated that the rejection of the second PK of PT TPN to Bank Mandiri and the Minister of Finance with Register Number 716 PK / PDT / 2017 was decided by three panels of Supreme Court judges on December 13, 2017, and has been sent to the court on 4 July 2018.
Head of the Advocacy Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Finance, Tio Serepina Siahaan, welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court PK Judges Council, and was grateful for the victory.
“The victory achieved by the Government to the PK level has gone through a process of proof and legal argumentation which is very critical, sharp, and clear because we strongly believe that these funds are indeed the right of the Government,” said Tio in his statement.

With the verdict on the second PK request submitted by PT TPN, continued Tio, the victory of the Government as the party entitled to the funds that have been deposited to the state amounting to Rp 1.2 trillion has been confirmed.
In addition, the victory over the PT TPN matter makes the Minister as the holder of the bill for all PT TPN debt to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
“Thus, PT TPN no longer has the opportunity to make other legal efforts on matters concerning PT TPN debt,” “explained Tio.
The matter involving PT TPN as the Second PK Applicant, as well as PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, and the Ministry as the Second PK Applicants is a strange matter that has started since 2006.
In addition, there are also five civil cases related to PT TPN in Indonesian courts, some of which have reached the MA level.
PT TPN filed a second PK application on Decision PK Article 928 in the State Court (PN) of South Jakarta against Decision PK Article 118 in PN North Jakarta.
In this process, the Advocacy Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Finance coordinated with the State Attorney and Bank Mandiri to prepare strategies and materials in the Memorandum of PK for the two cases.
