PRESIDENT’S JOURNEY IN LOUISIANA
White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday provided new details on President Biden’s trip to Louisiana on Friday to assess damage from Hurricane Ida.
“The president will be traveling to New Orleans to assess the damage caused by the hurricane. He will meet with state and local leaders, I guess that will include the governor and the mayor, from affected communities. And beyond that, we are still in the process of finalizing all the details that we will hopefully have later tonight, ”Jen Psaki said at the press conference.
She warned that details were “being finalized.” Earlier in the briefing: Jen Psaki detailed ongoing federal efforts to support those affected by the storm. “In Louisiana, disaster survivor assistance teams arrived today to support cooling stations for New Orleans and Saint-Jean-Baptiste parish, ”said Jen Psaki.
