Airplane Air Lion with flight number JT-330 to Palembang, turn around and land at Soekarno Hatta Airport due to engine problems. Gustria Kurnia Putri, one of the passengers, said he heard an explosion when the plane took off or take off.

Gustria said other passengers saw the plane’s left wing catch fire. Gustria said the plane flew only 30 minutes in the air.
“After 5-10 minutes, there are passengers who realize that the left wing of the plane is releasing fire. In about 30 minutes we will land on the plane,” he said.
Gustria reported that the conditions in the cabin were hot and stifling. He said AC didn’t feel turned on.
“The steam in the plane is already hot, even the air conditioner doesn’t feel stuffy,” he added.
Gustria also shared a video of the plane returning and landing at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. There were shouts, thanks and cheers from the passengers as the plane landed successfully.
In the video, the conditions inside the cabin appear dark. There was also the roar of the engine.

The Lion Air plane turns around
Lion Air’s corporate communications strategy Danang Mandala Prihantoro reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday (10/24/2022). The plane took off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, to Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport in Palembang, South Sumatra, at 17:13 WIB. The plane went back to 3,000 feet.
