Lionel Messi another great night of football in the United States.
This Sunday, in the round of 16 of the Leagues Cup – a competition in which teams from the MLS and the Mexican league participate – the Argentine and Inter Miami beat FC Dallas, at Toyota Stadium, on penalties after 4-4 in normal time.
Lionel Messi needed just five minutes to find the net. Receiving an assist from Jordi Alba, he completed the low cross into the back of the goal as in the days of Barcelona.
FC Dallas’ reaction started at the end of the first half. Facundo Quingnon tied the game at 37. And Bernard Kamungo turned to the Texans at 45 of the initial stage.
The game was electric in the second half. Alan Velasco added Dallas’ third in the 18th minute. Shortly thereafter Cremaschi reduced to Inter Miami, but Robert Taylor scored an own goal to leave the Texans with two goals ahead at 23 of the final stage.

In the penalty shootout, Messi also converted his kick, as well as Busquets. And Inter Miami won 5-3 and secured their spot in the next round.
With this result, Inter Miami advances to the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup and will face the winner of the duel between Houston Dynamo and Charlotte FC, who play this Monday.
Messi is yet to lose for his new club, with three wins and a draw.
