Lifesavers honored in Grafenberg for many years – Neckar + Erms – Reutlinger General-Anzeiger

GRAFENBERG. “It’s always nice when you can honor the local blood donors in a special setting,” said Grafenberg’s mayor in honoring permanent blood donors. For many years there has been a separate appointment with a small snack and talks. Due to Corona, the municipal council meeting was chosen as a worthy setting.

“Give life, donate blood” Brodbeck quoted a motto of the DRK as “four words that say what counts, what really matters,” said Brodbeck. Together with the DRK – Head of Standby Großbettlingen, Frank Schaich, he honored Doris Wurster for donating blood 25 times, Michael Euchner, who has donated the saving lifeblood 50 times so far, and Hermann Bader, who even donated his blood on 75 appointments. The blood donors who could not be present will not receive their honor publicly.

»The voluntary and unpaid blood donations from the German Red Cross ensure the care of patients in Germany who are dependent on transfusions. This makes blood donors very special people, because with their blood donation they take on social commitment and give life. Our special thanks go to them,” says Brodbeck.

There must be a minimum interval of 56 days between two whole blood donations. Women can donate whole blood four times and men six times within twelve months. Appointments must currently be made online. (GEA)
