At 11pm last night, news was received that two middle school girls were sexually assaulted by foreigners and then detained in this hotel.

The police arrived immediately, but foreign men locked the door and survived.

Finally, about 10 minutes later, the police opened the door with the hotel emergency key and entered and arrested two men.

“There were about four police cars and strong men … It was so loud that I wondered if there was some sort of gang fight.”

These were African citizens from Liberia who went to Busan to participate in an international event organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

Two foreign Liberians are accused of taking two female students they met in a nearby subway station to the hotel and raping them.

These men, between the ages of 50 and 30, respectively, claimed immunity.

He stated that he had a diplomatic passport after being sent from Liberia to the UK and that he had come to Korea to attend the event.

However, since he was not granted diplomatic status by Korea, the privilege of immunity was not recognized and he was immediately sent to a detention center.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant as soon as the investigation into the circumstances of their crime is completed.
