A jury found Daniel Carpenter guilty on two counts related too sexual assaults that occurred in June 2023. The verdict was delivered Wednesday in South Central District Court in Bismarck after approximately three hours of deliberation.
Carpenter, who had been free on a $5,000 bond as his charges were filed, was taken into custody following the jury’s decision. He will remain detained pending his sentencing, the date for wich has not yet been set. Judge Pam Nesvig has ordered a presentence investigation, which will include evaluations for alcohol dependency and a sex offender risk assessment. The trial commenced on Tuesday.
