A new version of the Motorola razr will be released ‘very soon’. That says Lenovo director Yuanqing Yang in an interview. This week, many manufacturers announced new foldable smartphones, but Lenovo did not.
The next razr especially has a better hinge, says Yang in an interview with CNBC. There have been rumors about the next razr for some time, but a release was not a given: Lenovo released razrs in 2019 and 2020, but did not do so in 2021. Last year, a new model was released. That happened in the fall.
Yang did not specify how soon the new phone will be released, nor did he say what exactly will be new, other than the hinge and “applications”. Executives rarely confirm before announcing that a new phone is coming. The razr is Lenovo’s series of flip phones with a folding screen.
