“Left Bank” rapper releases twenty years of video and invites to concerts

The left bank of the Hippopotamus Association has published a co-song and video dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of its existence, in the manner of a cypher. With its release, “Kreisais Krasts” invites to anniversary warm-up concerts on the Ogre stage on May 28 and at the festival “Summer Sound” on July 30.

“Kreisais Krasts” (KK) is one of the largest and longest-standing hip-hop associations in Latvia, which turns 20 this year. “Cypher 6 – KKXX” marks the anniversary of the round, which is a summary of the activities so far, which listeners will be able to experience at the upcoming concerts this summer, where the anniversary program will feature all the most popular songs of the association. Work has also begun this year on the new “Left Bank” anniversary album.

KK members have more than 20 rappers, including such well-known names in domestic hip-hop as Ansis, Pioneer, Dairis, Point to I, Kaiser, Melikol, Denis, EV, Ivan Baigais, Eiksho, JeeKaa, Mister Krūmiņš, R2RS, Biscuit, etc. “Cypher 6 – KKXX ”is also useful from the point of view that in this seven-minute video version you can watch many of KK’s rappers, which a wider audience may not even know about on a daily basis.

“I knew that we would be active for so long, no doubt, but like any KK supporter, I am crazy about the result we have achieved. As with all families, the path to relationship and success is never easy. The direction changes if there are obstacles ahead to move on. We walk around, jump over, walk through, but most importantly – we move forward. I’m happy, but I also know we can do more! ” says Pioneer, one of the founders of the Left Bank.

During the anniversary year, new members have joined the association – guitarist and music producer Henrijs Mucenieks (Henny), as well as the current songwriter and singer Būū, real name Ilze Fārte. Participating in the Left Bank Sapphire is her rap debut and also her first appearance as a member of the KK Association. “My gift and curse in music has always been to jump in different genres, and hip-hop resonates with me right now. In addition, I have not felt such a sense of community and support from Latvian hip-hop from any community. It is a great pleasure that we met the guys so that the first woman would join the sea of testosterone for 20 years! ” so be.

“Cypher 6 – KKXX” is the sixth recording and video created by KK in this format. Unlike the usual song format, the accompanist gathers a much larger number of participants, while maintaining the free self-expression of each. A cypher in a hip-hop culture is essentially an informal gathering of several rappers and the execution of their texts, simply passing the microphone on. “Cypher 6 – KKXX” video is created by KK member Tom Rings, and the author of the beat is Silin Beats. Recorded and post-processed by Point to I (Ingus Šusts) at the Left Bank Studio. Author of the song EV Participants with articles (in order of execution): Ritvars, EV, Point I, Mister Krūmiņš, Būū, Deniss, Kaisers, Melikols, Ivan Baigais, Eiksho, Pioneer, R2RS. Opening remarks – JeeKaa.
