Leaked promo video Sony WF-1000XM4 earphones awards LDAC support – Image and sound – News

A promo video of the upcoming Sony WF-1000XM4 has leaked. The wireless noise-cancelling earphones receive support for Sony’s LDAC codec for high-resolution audio. They also have an ipx4 certification, which means they are water resistant.

The video will be posted on Reddit, in the French and the Nederlands. In addition to the LDAC codec, the earphones receive DSEE Extreme, a technology that the WH-1000XM4 headphones already had. This is an algorithm that uses artificial intelligence to try to recover the information that was lost when compressing music. So the algorithm tries from lossy music again lossless to make music. The earphones also get new drivers, new ‘V1’ processors and the 360 Reality Audio function is present.

Sony would also have tinkered with the microphones. They would beamforming to better understand the user. In addition, the earphones have sensors that can also pick up the vibrations of the voice that are transmitted through the skull and use it during conversations. Furthermore, ‘speak to chat’ is also available, whereby media is paused when the user is talking. Sony already warns in the promo about ‘rare cases’ in which vibrations are mistakenly mistaken for speech. Sony does not rule out the possibility that this happens when, for example, coughing or humming.

As with its predecessor, the WF-1000XM3, there is active noise canceling. As is well known with Sony’s WH and WF models, here’s another one too adaptive sound controlmode, which detects what kind of activity the user is performing and adjusts the profile accordingly. In the video, for example, some ambient noise comes in when the user is walking, but in the bus it is kept out as much as possible. Presets for locations can also be set. What seems completely new, however, is the automatic wind noise reduction. With noise-cancelling sound equipment, the sound of the wind can sometimes be amplified instead of the opposite and Sony now claims to have something for that.

The battery life should be a total of 24 hours, of which 8 hours are charged in the earphones themselves and 16 hours in the battery of the box. That is with active noise canceling on; whoever turns that off can expect a total of 36 hours of use. The box must also be able to charge the earphones quickly: Sony claims that five minutes of charging is enough for sixty minutes of listening. Charging can be done wirelessly or via the USB-C connection in the box. The video shows the bluetooth earphones in two colors: black and silver.

A price does not mention the video, but WinFuture came on Thursday with new renders of the ears out. In addition, it mentioned many of the technical details that are also mentioned in this promo. In addition, WinFuture did have a price to reveal: 279.90 euros. The earphones would also be for sale ‘soon’ in Europe.
