Le Puy du Fou obtains an exemption to accommodate 9,000 spectators this Saturday evening

An authorization “valid for August 15th for the moment” and that “concerns only the Cinesceny”. Sabine Tommy-Martin, in charge of communication and marketing of Puy du Fou, delivered the main lines of the exemption granted to the park for the evening of August 15: 9,000 people will be able to attend the show. The prefecture of Vendée accepted the health plan presented by the leaders of the theme park. The spectators will be divided into three separate stands which will accommodate 3,000 people each. Wearing a mask will be compulsory and hydroalcoholic gel will be made available.

Officially, the ban on gatherings of more than 5,000 people, initially in force until August 30, was extended on Tuesday until October 30 due to the Covid-19 epidemic. But Jean Castex then indicated that derogations on a case-by-case basis could always be decided by the prefects.

The Puy du Fou had created controversy last July by obtaining a dispensation allowing it to accommodate for the same show 12,000 people, divided into three stands of 4,000 spectators, separated by plexiglass walls. The Vendée park was then passed under the bar of 5,000 spectators welcomed, following the broadcast of a report by France Television on the subject, on July 25.
