The increase in the number of new cases seems to be stabilizing for a few days and even slowing down somewhat since it was + 9% on Friday compared to the previous seven-day period, + 13% Thursday, + 12% Wednesday, +11 % Tuesday and + 16% Monday.
Deaths on the rise

Hospital admissions also continue to increase. Between August 5 and 11, there was an average of 32.6 admissions per day, a 47% increase from the previous week. In total, 18,644 people have already been admitted to hospital, of which 54.9% are located in Flanders, 29.7% in Wallonia and 15.4% in Brussels. The province of Antwerp and the Brussels Region have been the most affected since the start of the crisis.
As of Friday, 310 people were in hospital (+1), including 80 in intensive care (+6). Of these, 45 (+3) were on artificial respiration.
Almost 1,000 more cases
In total, 77,113 contaminations with the new coronavirus were observed in Belgium, or 922 more than the total arrested on Friday. The real number of contaminations in Belgium is however much higher, because only the most serious cases were detected at the start of the epidemic.
