LE CREUSOT: Music from Baptiste Perraudin’s film wins first prize in New York

The two brothers Baptiste and Denis Perraudin reached the grand finale of a short film festival in New York

… Where Arnaud Cordelier won first prize in the best film music category.

The verdict fell by email then by the receipt of an official certificate a few hours ago this Wednesday, selected to participate in the grand finale of a festival in New York alongside 9 other professional productions, the film directed by le Creusotin Baptiste Perraudin did not win the title in the “short-film” category… but finished first in the best music category.
Thanks to Arnaud Cordelier who composed the music, the film “45 Days Later” therefore leaves New York with a certain recognition from the jury and an exceptional prize: “It is an immense mountain which rises in front of us, the last films still in the running are all productions worth tens of thousands of dollars, but we believe in our lucky stars! »Baptiste Perraudin had explained when he learned of the selection of his film for the grand finale.

First grand prize for Arnaud Cordelier

Former work colleague of Baptiste, Arnaud Cordelier is part of the Spectateur du Creusot school. He said he was very honored to receive this award for his music: “Recognition like this is very gratifying for the work done on this film. I would also like to thank Baptiste for having trusted me by giving me practically carte blanche on the writing.
I hope I served his film as best I could. I worked directly on the final cut, so the challenge was to compose, play and record music that had to perfectly match the timing and scenes of the films. I hope to have the opportunity to serve other films with my music… ”confided to Creusot Infos the young composer whose immense satisfaction we can imagine is combined with those of Baptiste and his brother Denis, the only actor of the film, shot in Le Creusot during the confinement, the common thread of the scenario with the virus and the apocalypse as ingredients.

Los Angeles here we are!

After being rewarded in 2015 in Miami and today with this remarkable participation in the grand final in New York, the two brothers have their heads in the stars. So they decided to nominate their famous short film “45 Days Later” for another famous American festival “Los Angeles Film Award” which will be held at the end of January exactly.
“In our society, where we can go, a rather obscure path, it can be this loneliness that can be felt over the course of a year.

This is what we wanted to transcribe in this film: we were confined with a security perimeter not to be crossed, and in the film we transcribed it through an invisible perimeter that the character cannot cross “says Baptiste, the head elsewhere, notably in the editing of a new film produced this summer at Le Creusot, in the “horror-drama” register where he obviously excels.
