the Stéphane Bern Heritage Mission grants 176,000 euros to the Uzeste collegiate church

The Heritage Mission led by Stéphane Bern unveiled on Wednesday January 6 the precise amount of aid granted to each of the 101 sites selected in 2020 in France. Either one per department. For the Gironde, we know since September that it is the collegiate church of Uzeste whose spire needs to be restored.

Mission Bern thus granted 176,000 euros to the collegiate church for a project estimated at just under 1 million euros (excluding tax).

When the historic monument of South Gironde was selected by Mission Bern, the municipality of Uzeste and the Association of Friends of the Collegiate had hoped to receive around 200,000 euros. We are not far from it.

The maximum amount granted by the Heritage Mission is 300,000 euros per monument. The overall budget is 15.2 million euros, which comes mainly from the profits of the Loto du Patrimoine and other fundraising and sponsorship operations.

To complete the financing of the collegiate church site, the municipality of Uzeste is counting on aid from the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (State), as well as on a subscription launched via the Heritage Foundation by the Friends of the collegiate church.
