Lawyer’s Study Raided in Bahia as Part of Narcotics Investigation

Illicit Drugs officers raided the study of a Bahia lawyer in the last few hours as part of an investigation into the alleged retail sale of narcotics, official sources reported.

The procedure took place in an apartment located in a building on the first block of Alvarado Street, where the officers seized three cell phones, remains of a white powdery substance, cutting elements and telephone chips, among other things.

The spokespersons indicated that the case was launched last February, after a call to the 911 emergency telephone number made by a person who anonymously mentioned a subject and said that he was dedicated to the sale of narcotics.

The Police established the address of the accused man and launched investigative tasks that would have determined the existence of drug dealing maneuvers in that office. In this way, the operation was authorized in the last hours by the Guarantee Justice.

The professional is not publicly identified because, at least for the moment, no procedural measure was taken against him.

The spokespersons indicated that in the coming days they will work on the analysis of the seized devices.

Another raid was carried out in Jesús María at 1,500 Punta Alta and resulted from a procedure carried out months ago in a bar in that city, where uniformed officers found marijuana and seized various cell phones.

From the elements’ expertise, information emerged that one of the people caught in the business could be linked to the drug trade, which is why they carried out covert surveillance and follow-ups.

With the elements collected, prosecutor Mauricio del Cero requested the raid the day before.

With the support of the Naval Establishments Police (PEN), personnel from the Bahia drug trafficking agency searched the suspect’s house and found cannabis plants and seedlings, cash and a digital scale, among other things.

In this case, no custodial measures were taken regarding the subject, although he remains linked to the investigation.
