Nuclear powers must avoid any military confrontation among them, including the use of conventional weapons, Lavrov said.
Lavrov recalled that earlier this year, at the initiative of Moscow, the leaders of the countries – permanent members of the UN Security Council confirmed that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and must never be turned on.
“Russia’s position goes further: in addition to the inadmissibility of such a war, it is necessary to avoid any military confrontation between nuclear powers, even with the use of conventional weapons. The escalation could become uncontrollable”, he stressed.
The minister also underlined this Moscow will continue to defend global security and stability.
