The British Prime Minister Rishi Sunakmade a surprise visit to Ukraine’s capital, kyiv, this Saturday to hold his first meeting with the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, since his arrival at Downing Street on October 25, in a meeting in which Sunak has pledged to provide targeted military support worth nearly €60 million strengthen the Ukrainian air defense.
In a Telegram post, Zelensky shared a video of the prime minister’s arrival. “From the first days of the war, Ukraine and the United Kingdom have been the strongest allies,” wrote the president, a close ally of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson since the beginning of the war.
