Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, an 830 horsepower V12

Lamborghini today unveiled the first images of a fairly unique racing car, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, a high-performance car intended to be used only on racing circuits and featuring the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine ever offered by the brand. The few buyers will have the chance to be part of a select club giving them access to special programs supervised by Lamborghini’s motorsport team, the Racing team.

The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 will be built only 40 copies, which already ensures a place among the models of collection of the famous Italian brand. Designed by Centro Stile studios of Lamborghini and developed by the Squadra Corse team, the car will offer outstanding performance thanks to a naturally aspirated V12 engine, the most powerful ever developed by the manufacturer and capable of developing power beyond 830 horsepower. The engine is derived from the 6.5-liter V12 found on board the Aventador.

According to Lamborghini, the Essenza SCV12 was designed for track use only and incorporates technologies employed by the racing team. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed X-trac sequential transmission developed specifically for the car and capable of efficiently managing all of the V12’s torque.

« The Essenza SCV12 is the ultimate expression of the naturally aspirated V12 engine, a true symbol of our brand since 1963 », Underlines Maurizio Reggiani, technical director

Thanks to its carbon fiber frame, the racing car offers a power / weight ratio of 1.66 horsepower / kilo; the manufacturer was even able to avoid the addition of an interior protective cage. The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is also the first GT-type car designed to comply with FIA safety regulations.

Owners will be able to benefit from full supervision and access the most prestigious circuits in the world. The program includes the storage of your vehicle in a hangar designed specifically for the Essenza SCV12 club and located on the site of Lamborghini’s head office in Italy. Webcams will allow you to take a look at your car at all times, but we bet that some owners would like to be able to admire it in their own facilities.
