The dogs were later found unharmed, while the dog sitter was in hospital for over a month after having complications with his lungs. He was discharged from the hospital a month after the incident.
Now the US Marshal Services is looking for a man who was mistakenly released from custody after being arrested in connection with the incident, reports The Guardian.

Offer bounty
In a statement on Monday, the federal agency announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a 19-year-old man.
The man was arrested for robbery and attempted murder, but in April, over a year after the artist’s dog sitter was shot, a clerical error led to his release.
He was released after he had attended a meeting in court. In the court session, the indictment against him was dropped, but only in anticipation of being replaced by a new indictment.
The documents were still not updated with information about the new indictment, which led to Jackson being released, wrote The Guardian that time.
Now the police are offering a sum if someone manages to contribute to a new arrest of the man.

The man is one of five who were arrested in connection with the shooting incident that took place on 24 February last year.
The dog sitter was walking with the three dogs Asia, Koji and Gustav, when a white car drove towards him. Two men jumped out of the car and allegedly tried to steal the dogs. Before they ran away from the scene with two of the dogs, a man, allegedly the 19-year-old, shot at the dog sitter.
Two days after the incident, a lady returned the dogs to the Los Angeles Police Department. At first the police did not believe that she had anything to do with the incident, but she was later arrested together with four others, including the 19-year-old.

Police do not believe the people knew the dogs belonged to the “A Star Is Born” star, but assumed they were out to steal the French bulldogs, an expensive dog breed, for their monetary value.
The star herself took to Instagram shortly after the incident, where she paid tribute to the dog sitter, among other things.
“I continue to love you, Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You will always be a hero”.
