Almost twenty years after their first breakup, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck fell in love again. They got married a year ago. The singer and actor share loving photos of each other via social media, but are also often seen bickering. What about love?
Lopez and Affleck’s relationship goes way back: the two met on the film set of Lilies in 2002. The singer was still married to Cris Judd at the time. “I don’t know exactly when we fell in love. We were just friends at first,” the singer said after breaking up her marriage to Judd and starting a relationship with the actor.
Affleck and Lopez were widely followed by the tabloid press. The relationship was described in gossip magazines and when the two got engaged, the fairy tale seemed complete. But the “extreme media attention” eventually killed the relationship.
First the marriage was postponed, four months later the two announced that the relationship was finally over. Then they went their separate ways: Lopez married Marc Anthony and had two children with him, Affleck married Jennifer Garner and had two children with her.

Paparazzi captures the first months of ‘Bennifer’
The new relationships lasted for a long time, but ultimately did not turn out to be forever. Affleck and Lopez ran into each other again and got back together after almost twenty years.
In the first months, ‘Bennifer’ has already been captured several times by the paparazzi. Also on the red carpet, the couple does not care about the flashy cameras. Less than six months after the wedding, the couple appears visibly irritated during the Grammy Awards. Presenter Trevor Noah takes a seat next to the two, just as they are having a fight. Lopez says something to Affleck and then gives him a gentle tap in the chest. It doesn’t get better: every time Affleck comes into the picture after that, he looks unhappy.
Theories about what happened are flying all over the internet afterwards. A lip reader claims that Lopez would have asked her husband to “make a little more effort”.
Affleck denies being in a bad mood at the Grammy Awards. Just as the camera was pointed at him, he was playing a prank on his wife.
“When they start spinning, I’ll move over so you’re alone next to Trevor,” he reportedly told his wife. “Don’t you dare,” Lopez responded, according to Affleck.

It’s not the only time the pair have clashed in public. Photos appear regularly in which the two seem to be arguing. During the premiere of the movie Mother the couple is engaged in a heated argument. Affleck again denies that there was an argument. “My wife just replied to something I said. In her usual, somewhat snappy tone.”
The extreme media attention became too much for the couple twenty years ago, but now they are arming themselves against all the stories that are going around. There is therefore nothing to notice on social media of any dissatisfaction in the relationship. Only the romantic pictures save the timeline.
