NEW YORK (AP) – Kyrie Irving rocked a difficult three-quarters to score 17 of his 25 points in the fourth, Kevin Durant had 33 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, and the Brooklyn Nets gave the Atlanta Hawks their first loss with 145 points. -141 win on Wednesday night.
In the first game of a two-game series between the teams that was almost entirely on offense, the third game in the Nets franchise where both teams had 100 points in three quarters, Irving couldn’t get into action. He only made 3 of 16 shots from the field and was outscored by his point guard counterpart Trae Young.
But he hit three 3-pointers in the final period after missing all seven of three as the Nets rallied to win after losing two in a row after their 2-0 start.
Young had 30 points, 11 assists and six rebounds, and John Collins had 30 points and 10 rebounds. But it wasn’t enough for the Hawks, who had won their first three for the first time since 2016.
Bogdan Bogdanovic hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points and Cam Reddish had 20 for the Hawks, who led most of the first three quarters but never by much because the Nets, except Irving, were just as hot.
Brooklyn put seven players in double figures, with Joe Harris adding 23 points.
With 46 points from Brown Celtics they beat Memphis
BOSTON (AP) – Jaylen Brown scored a career-high 42 points, scoring 18 in the second quarter Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics retired for their 10th straight victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, 126- 107.
Brown equaled a career-best 34 points with three minutes remaining in the third, and his seven 3s (on 10 attempts) tied a career-high. Jayson Tatum scored 16 points, Marcus Smart had 14 and Robert Williams III had 10 rebounds for Boston, which has not lost to Memphis since 2016.
Hours after announcing that they will be without top scorer and current Rookie of the Year Ja Morant for three to five weeks due to a sprained ankle, the Grizzlies lost for the third time in four games. Jonas Valan? I? Nas had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis, and Gorgui Dieng scored 17 points
