Kwilu: 213 additional children vaccinated against polio in Bandunndu

Two hundred and thirteen additional children from zero to less than 6 years old have been vaccinated against polio in the urban-rural health zone of Bandundu in the province of Kwilu, rejoices Monday, February 10, the communicator of this entity, Julien Lemisa.

According to him, 50,620 children were vaccinated during the campaign held from February 6 to 8 in this health zone, while the initial target was 50,407.

“The Bandundu health zone is in good condition. If we now have to consider the sweeping data, it shows us that we are going beyond 100%, and the 100% is justified because we have vaccinated the floating population ”, said Jean Lemisa, before the final evaluation of the polio campaign.

He also suggests some difficulties encountered during this campaign:

“The service providers had difficulty crossing or leaving from one village to another. You had to cross rivers, you had to cross savannas, forests. With the climate of our province, it was really too hard for these providers who went “door to door”. “
