While CD Projekt RED did not envisage its arrival in the Switch’s catalog two years ago, the buzzing success of The Witcher universe seems to allow Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales to offer itself a place in the Nintendo Switch catalog.
Solo card game, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales appeared in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With an interactive map drawn by hand, it notably offers to explore new places in the world of The Witcher. And while the Polish studio CD Projekt RED declared during this same period not to plan a port on the hybrid console of Nintendo, here it is finally freshly landed on the store of the Switch. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is available today on Nintendo e-shop at the price of 19.99 €.
Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game from the world of The Witcher that combines storytelling guided exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.
Designed by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game tells the story of Meve, war veteran and queen of two northern kingdoms – Lyria and Rivia. Faced with an imminent invasion of Nilfgaardian, Meve is again forced to enter the warpath and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.
