The government recognizes the sale of organizing tickets MotoGP Mandalika still minimal. Deputy I of the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), Febry Calvin Tetelepta, said this could not be separated from the limited availability of accommodation.
According to him, the results of field monitoring and verification carried out by the Presidential Staff Office, until now there are still tourist concerns regarding the availability of housing, which causes MotoGP ticket sales to not be maximized.
“One of the causes of the lack of MotoGP ticket sales can not be separated from the limited availability of accommodation. Tourists are worried about not getting lodging while they have already bought MotoGP tickets,” said Febry in a written statement, Thursday (3/3).
Febry said, of all accommodations spread across Lombok, currently only 75 percent can operate due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Of that amount, half are already booked, and 7,200 rooms are still available.
However, he ensured that the government had made various efforts so that people could access affordable accommodation.
One of them is by enacting the NTB Governor Regulation No. 9/2022 which regulates accommodation rates during international events.
“To maximize the use of homestays or sarhunta, KSP also encourages the homestays offered to be accessed through the online ITDC channel,” he said.
On that occasion, Febry asked the local government and ITDC to continue to invite the public to watch the MotoGP event.
“The NTB Regional Government has involved the community in the process of building MotoGP facilities and infrastructure. It is also necessary to involve the community to make the implementation a success,” said Febry.
As is known, the number of Mandalika MotoGP tickets sold until 20 February 2022 was 21,530 tickets. This number is still far from the target of 60,000 tickets.
On the other hand, the government is making various efforts to maximize ticket sales for the Mandalika MotoGP or Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. Among other things, by making a one-pack MotoGP ticket with lodging.
The 2022 MotoGP will open at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, this weekend. Then Fabio Quartararo and his friends will return to asphalt at the Mandalika Indonesia MotoGP on March 20.
