KPU decides that Ummat Amien Rais party will not go through the 2024 elections

Community party it became the only party that failed the fact check and was declared unable to participate Elections 2024.

Of the nine new or non-parliamentary parties that took part in the verification process, only the Ummat Party was declared ineligible (TMS). The party, formed by prominent politician Amien Rais, has failed to undergo scrutiny in North Sulawesi and NTT provinces.

The determination of the 17 participating parties in the 2024 election was made during the Plenary Meeting of National Recapitulation and Determination of Political Parties Contesting the 2024 Election at KPU Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/14 ).

“Deciding to enter into the decision of the KPU on the determination of political parties participating in the elections for members of the DPR and DPRD and local political parties of Aceh … nominating 17 political parties as participants in the 2024 elections of the DPR and of the DPRD,” said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari.

The 17 parties are a combination of eight non-parliamentary parties and nine parliamentary parties. Nine parliamentary parties were declared passed as participating parties in the elections even though they did not participate in the actual scrutiny.

The nine parliamentary parties are PDIP, Gerindra, Golkar, NasDem, PKB, PKS, PAN, Democrat and PPP. Meanwhile, the eight non-parliamentary parties are Perindo, PBB, PKN, Garuda, Gelora, Hanura, PSI and the Labor Party.

The KPU also nominated six local Acehnese parties on that occasion. Each of them are Aceh Party, Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, Generation of Aceh United Obedience and Piety, Daarul Aceh, Nangroe Aceh and Sira Party.

“This decision was made in Jakarta on December 14, 2022, I signed the KPU chairman, Hasyim Asyari,” he said.

The Ummat party filed a note of objection to the results of the national recapitulation of the fact-checking of political parties as candidates for the 2024 elections held by the KPU.

The Ummat Party was reported to have failed the audit in two of the 34 provinces. After reading the results of the national recapitulation, Ummat Party representative Nazarudin interrupted.

He also handed over the document containing the objection note of the Ummat party to the chairman of the KPU. The note of objection was signed by Bawaslu President Rahmat Bagja and Hasyim Asy’ari.
