The KPK rejected the request for a lawyer for the Governor of Papua Luca EnembeAloysius Renwarin, for questioning in Jayapura, Papua. KPK extension he stressed that the inspection will still be done in Jakarta.
“For the legal advisers who don’t want to be examined in Jakarta, yes, we will still call them temporarily. Because actually there is no reason they can’t come,” the Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK Karyoto told reporters on Monday (11/28/2022).
Karyoto explained that there were no exceptions to the summonses that had been sent by KPK investigators. If there are financial problems, Karyoto said, these can be coordinated so that the KPK can get Aloysius to Jakarta.
“Except if you really don’t have any money or there are obstacles, maybe you can coordinate with us, what are the ways we can bring interested people to Jakarta,” he said.
Earlier, the KPK had officially sent a second summons to Papua Governor Lukas Enembe’s lawyers, namely Stefanus Roy Rening and Aloysius Renwarin. KPK Deputy for Karyoto Enforcement said the subpoena was not in the stage of finding fault with the two sides.
“This has to do with not blaming people, there are still facts that we need to explore, let’s gather those that relate to the handling of the Lukas Enembe case in general,” Karyoto said at a press conference on Tuesday (11/22).
It later turned out that the KPK had indeed summoned two lawyers, Lukas Enembe. This week, Thursday (11/24) they will have to undergo the examination with the investigators of the KPK.
This exam is the second summons sent by the KPK. Previously, Aloysius Renwarin had failed to comply with the KPK’s summons.
In his statement, Aloysius Renwarin admitted that he was summoned to the second examination as a witness of corruption. However, Aloysius requested to be examined in Jayapura, Papua.
“I did advocacy and legal assistance for my client, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, in Jayapura, Papua, so I asked the KPK to be investigated in Papua,” Aloysius said in his statement on Tuesday (11/22). ).
He admitted that he had sent an official letter to the KPK regarding his request for an exam in Jayapura, Papua. He also said that the request had been approved by KPK investigation director Asep Guntur.
“And Pak Asep himself agreed to my request, to be examined in Jayapura, Papua,” he said.
