Directorate of Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) will coordinate with the police to find out the alleged corruption case that made the complainant, namely the Citemu Village Finance Officer, CirebonNurhayati, became a suspect.
“I immediately asked the Director of Korsup II of the KPK to coordinate with the APH (Law Enforcement Apparatus) regarding the handling of the case, including the matter of determining the suspect,” said Deputy Chair of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, to reporters, Monday (21/2).
Nawawi explained that the KPK has the authority to coordinate investigations, investigations, and prosecutions in eradicating criminal acts of corruption as mandated by Article 8 letter (a) of Law (UU) Number 19 of 2019 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the KPK.
Previously, through video uploads, Nurhayati questioned the status of the suspect after reporting a case of alleged corruption involving the Citemu Village Head with the initials S.
He expressed his disappointment with the police officers who made him a suspect. He admitted that he did not understand and felt strange about the legal process related to his report.
He admitted that he had spent two years assisting the investigation of alleged corruption in Citemu Village.
“At the end of 2021, I was named a suspect on the basis of instructions from the Attorney General’s Office,” he added.
The Cirebon City Police Chief, AKBP Fahri Siregar, stated that Nurhayati did not enjoy the money from corruption. However, he was suspected of violating the regulatory governance and financial administration system.
Due to the polemic that occurred, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, Komjen Pol Agus Andrianto, sent a team to check the process of investigating the alleged corruption.
“I am directing Wassidik (Investigation Supervisory Bureau) to check,” Agus said when contacted by CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (21/2).
