Korona, Russ | Large gatherings night to May 17th

The police report partly large accumulations of russ in several places in the country. In most cases, there are violations of infection control rules and not much noise and violence.

The phrase “little focus on infection control” is a recurring theme in police logs across the country on the night of 17 May.

In Oslo, more than 200 young people gathered in Vigelandsparken on Sunday evening.

The police stated that the infection control rules were difficult to keep as the situation was, but already before 23 o’clock they reported that the Russians were about to dissolve.

400 present in Gjøvik

In Gjøvik, the police intervened and broke up a party at a petrol station at Mjøsstranda. Police estimate that around 400 people were present.

Also at Hamresanden in Kristiansand, the Agder police district reported around midnight large gatherings with russ and other young people. Hundreds of people partyed and disturbed the peace of the neighbors.

Later that night, the police had to intervene in front of a gathering of russ who played such loud music that overnight guests in the Zoo were awakened.

Finished parties

In Grimstad, shortly after 3.00, a large accumulation of russ was reported at Vesterled. The accumulation gradually dissolved.

In Ålesund, the police intervened and ended a party on Geileberget where up to 100 young people were present. Later Monday night, many russ were reported at Moa.

Young people like the Russians may be reprimanded for taking back some of their lives, something the Prime Minister also showed understanding recently:

Body violation

In Hamar, a Russian was arrested for bodily harm by beating another Russian. The victim was given a cut over the eye that probably needs to be sewn. This is the most serious episode of violence in connection with the Russians that was reported last night.

Also in Tønsberg and in Lillehammer, there have been reports of party riots and gatherings of young people. There have been fights in some places, but no serious episodes.

The West police district reports an evenly busy night where the Russians have characterized the assignments, but generally behaved well.

Light a fire in a tent

In Kirkenes, the Russians found out that it was a good idea to light a fire to warm up. The problem was that the fire – according to the police a fairly large one – was lit inside a tent. Of course, the tent caught fire and burned up completely. No injuries were reported.

In Vardø, the police intervened and stopped a Russian event because there were minors at the scene.

– Kudos to the Russians

Nordland police district tweets that there have been a number of assignments that deal with loud music / disturbance of the night peace, but very few assignments that deal with this year’s russ.

– All kudos to you, is the message from the police to the Russians.

The police in the Inland report a fairly affordable night with mainly minor disturbances, noise, traffic and Russian-related incidents.
