“Every day is a day too many. Stop the war!” is written in cinema letters on the display board in Koblenzer Löhrstrasse. “The hardship and suffering of the people in Ukraine affects us. We feel helpless and would like to send a small sign of support,” says Christian Klein, operator of the cinemas.
Therefore, the cinema makers have joined forces with the majority of all cinemas in Germany and are showing the documentary “Klitschko” by director Sebastian Dehnhardt as a benefit screening on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 5:15 p.m. Former boxer Vitali Klitschko is mayor of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
Admission donation selectable
The entrance fees for the cinema performance are donated in full: “Our guests can choose how much they want to donate – there are tickets for 10 or 15 euros and each guest is welcome to buy one, two or more tickets per person,” says Klein.
The donations go to “Ein Herz für Kinder”, the organization of the “Bild” newspaper. According to the Odeon-Apollo, the Klitschko brothers have had personal ties to the initiative for many years. The money goes to urgently needed aid measures for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war.
“Klitschko“ tells about the ascent
The film “Klitschko” tells the story of the most famous boxing brothers in the world: from their childhood in the Ukraine, through their first successes as amateurs, their move to Germany, to their rise to international boxing superstars. “Klitschko” was first released in cinemas 11 years ago.
