Music producer Phil Spector died, working with the Beatles. He spent the last 11 years in prison – ČT24 – Czech Television

According to the prison service of the American state of California, Spector died of natural causes on Saturday in the hospital. According to the news website TMZ, he succumbed to complications associated with covid-19.

Spector was known as an innovator of rock music. In the late 50’s he belonged to the members of the pop group The Teddy Bears. He later collaborated with The Beatles on the album Let It Be, Tina Turner and The Ramones. He also produced the first solo albums by John Lennon and George Harrison.

He became famous mainly as the creator of the so-called sound walls, which were recordings of the purchase of the sounds of individual musical instruments on each other. In 1989, Spector was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. John Lennon himself was once called Spector the greatest music producer in history.

In 2009, Spector was found guilty of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. The woman died in 2003 as a result of a gunshot wound to the mouth fired from Spector’s weapon at his home in Los Angeles. The music producer’s lawyers claimed that Clarkson had inadvertently committed suicide.
