NEC is one of the seven clubs that the KNVB has approached for a trial with fans in the stadium. It must take place in July to see what is possible with the one and a half meter rule in football. The First Division is started at the end of August.
As of July 1 there will be a public welcome again at football matches, but supporters must keep a distance and are not allowed to sing. Singing and shouting increases the risk of contamination, but it seems difficult to maintain in a stadium.
In addition to NEC, Almere City FC, Ajax, PSV, De Graafschap, FC Groningen and Go Ahead Eagles have been approached by the KNVB. It is not yet known when exactly the trial will take place.
