Kidney disease is a condition when the kidneys are damaged and is a serious health problem. Because the kidneys are a pair of organs that have an important role in the human body. The function of the kidneys is to filter waste, toxins, and excess fluids in the blood, then excrete them through urine.

When the kidneys are disturbed, this will automatically have an impact on the health of the body. Therefore, it is important to know the symptoms of kidney disease. It also helps to reduce the risk of health problems due to kidney problems.

Many factors can interfere with kidney health and function, such as certain diseases, among others, kidney stones, kidney infections, kidney inflammation, kidney hypertension, kidney lupus and polycystic kidney.

The above diseases can reduce interference with kidney function. Kidney function disorders can generally be divided into two, namely acute kidney disorders and chronic kidney disease. Besides that, there is a third phase, namely acute on chronic, so there is an acute phase in chronic kidney disease.

The interesting thing about acute kidney disease is that it looks very severe but can actually be cured. Meanwhile, chronic kidney disease can require a person to have dialysis for life and cannot be cured.

The chairman of the Indonesian Nephrology Association (Pernefri), Dr. Zulkhair Ali, said that in chronic kidney disease, usually when it has entered the third phase or stage three, it must be treated seriously, and if it has kidney failure, dialysis should be done.

Symptoms of chronic kidney disease include:

  • Nausea, no appetite
  • Itchy skin
  • Often tired
  • Anemia
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Sleep disturbance
  • Neuropsychiatric symptoms (encephalopathy)

Chronic kidney disease is caused by damage to kidney tissue that is triggered by long-term disease. Some diseases that can cause kidney failure are diabetes, high blood pressure, and gout.
