The KNMI warns Saturday evening for dense fog in parts of the country where visibility is 200 meters or less. The fog could “obstruct traffic,” said the meteorological institute.
Code yellow has therefore been announced in North and South Holland, Flevoland, Utrecht, North Brabant, Limburg and Gelderland.
The situation can lead to dangerous driving conditions. Drivers are advised to adjust the speed and to keep sufficient distance. Because fog can occur suddenly, it can be treacherous, according to the KNMI. The fog could spread further in the coming hours.
The warning still applies until midnight.
