KKKC – BRONIAS RUĐIOS EXHIBITION: “THE IMAGE BECAUSES THE IMAGE”

in 2024 On Friday, February 23, at 5:30 p.m., the exhibition of Broniaus Rudis “The Image beckons the Image” will be opened in the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Cultural Communication Center (KKKC) (Didžioji Vandens St. 2, Klaipėda). The cycles of drawings presented in the exhibition will be exhibited as individual units or their installations. The drawings are made on paper of various sizes and textures, using acrylic, graphite powder, ink and other materials. According to art researcher dr. For Vidos Poškaus, B. Ružius, “all aspects of a drawing are especially important – line, stroke, spot, different and various combinations of these elements”. The exhibition will be open until March 24.

“THE DUST OF TIME DOESN’T COVER EVERYTHING”

“In the exhibition “Image beckons Image”, I present works made only on paper or remaining on paper in sketchbooks. In the collections of works of an abstract nature, I present constructive compositions, their cycles, which are inspired by the first ideas and their technical fulfillment that satisfies me. It is a kind of continuous provocation, encouraging to call the beginning of a new visual track. I make it possible to look at the materiality of the drawing without closing it in classic passports, frames or (re)hiding it under glass. I look at paper as a source of culture and examine its 2D plastic expression possibilities. For me, a white sheet is like an altar that I don’t want to dirty. But you have to. I included one/another work from my personal exhibitions held in Vilnius “Arkas”, “Kablio”, “Pamėnkalnis”, “Titaniko” galleries or the Contemporary Art Center, as well as in Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai exhibition halls 1984- in 2024. CREATOR

Bronius Rudys was born in 1954 Vepai (Panevėžys district) 1972–1977 studied at the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute Faculty of Arts. Since 1986 – Member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists (since 2021, chairman of LDS Šiauliai branch). Participates in exhibitions since 1977. Organized more than 30 author exhibitions. Areas of creative activity: printed and unique graphics – drawings, installations, objects, performances. The works have been purchased by the National Museum of Lithuanian Art, Šiauliai “Aušros”, Zimmerli (Zimmerli Art Museum, USA), foreign galleries (in Australia, Finland, Sweden, Germany), private collectors.
