The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the 2024 May 12 The composition of municipal election commissions for the Presidential elections of the Republic, while determining that they will work on organizing the Referendum on the amendment of Article 12 of the Constitution and on June 9. elections to the European Parliament.
Officially, the commission members will start their work after they give a written promise. The CEC organizes the ceremony of the presidents of the commissions Vasario 9 d. 10 val. It will be held in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
On the same day, they will receive training, during which representatives of the CEC will familiarize the chairmen of municipal election commissions with the procedures for organizing the upcoming elections, the basics of working with the CEC information system, the current affairs of election commissions’ financial management, aspects of complaints, investigations and monitoring of political advertising, standards of anti-corruption behavior, personal data processing in elections, adaptation of voting rooms for persons with disabilities, issues of publicizing information about elections and the CEC distance training platform.
The event will be filmed and broadcast live on the Internet. Commission members who did not participate in it will be able to view the training record at their convenience.

The remaining members of the commissions will have to give written promises in their municipalities within 15 days from the date of entry into force of the decision of the CEC, which approved the composition of the municipal election commissions, or no later than February 21.
Municipal election commissions were formed by the CEC from nominations submitted by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Lawyers’ Society, directors of municipal administrations and political parties.
