VVV talks to PEC Zwolle about a return of Vito van Crooy. In 2018, the Limburgers sold Van Crooy to PEC, but now that the attacker in Zwolle is no longer sure of a starting place, he is listening to a comeback at VVV.
According to Van Crooy Football International already indicated ‘to be open’ for the possibility to go back to VVV. Last season, the winger suffered injuries and his playing time diminished noticeably. Even now, the chances of minutes in the first team at PEC do not seem too great for Van Crooy.
VVV would also like to go back to sea with the product of its own youth academy. The people of Venlo are negotiating with PEC about the lump sum payment for Van Crooy, which will remain in the Overijssel capital for two more years.
Less likely is Clint Leemans’ return to VVV. The midfielder, who played on a rental basis for RKC last season, seems to go to Fortuna Sittard. They have the financial options to bring in 24-year-old Leemans, while it is precisely those options that are lacking at VVV.
