Kim Woong “Reduce SNS and look at criminal procedure law”

– As former Justice Minister Cho Guk tried to establish a serious crime investigation agency that completely excluded the prosecution’s direct investigation, officials from the prosecution began to protest.

On the 13th, Rep. Kim Woong, a former chief prosecutor, said, “There is no’supplementary’ investigation request system in Korea. He pointed out that “request for supplementary investigation is a system of Chinese public security.”

This is due to the fact that on the 12th, which was New Year’s Day, former Minister Cho unveiled a plan for a separate system between the high-ranking public officials investigation office, the prosecution office, the serious crime investigation office, and the police office. Cho argues that the Prosecutors’ Office has the right to prosecute crimes other than high-ranking public officials and to request a’supplementary’ investigation for the police’s primary investigation right, and that the serious crime investigation authority should have the right to investigate the six major crimes.

Rep. Kim said, “Of course, it can be confusing because it copied the Chinese public security system as it is.” He asked, “It is still a corporation led by the professor, so should you be familiar with that?” He advised, “Please cut down on your social media time a little and read the Criminal Procedure Act.”

As a candidate for the Minister of Justice in 2019, former Minister Cho aimed to legislate the prosecutor’s law adjustment bill and introduce the airlift. The following year, when the law to adjust the investigative power was passed by the National Assembly, he said, “I am very impressed because I have a proud experience in assisting the Moon Jae-in government to reach the conclusion of the agreement as chief civil servant.”

Rep. Kim also said, “It was none other than the chief civil servant of the country who admitted to the prosecution’s special investigation,” he said. “The reason that he suddenly asked to get rid of the special investigation was not because he was under investigation, right?” In the announcement of reform plans for power institutions in 2018, former Minister Cho said, “Only for special investigations that the prosecution is already doing well, the prosecution’s direct investigation is recognized.”

On the 13th, attorney Seok Dong-hyun, who served as the prosecutor of the eastern district of Seoul, said, “Of the prosecution’s authority, the high-ranking officials have already been taken away by creating an airlift. He criticized the prosecution’s dismantling procedure through aerial decomposition, going beyond the incapacitation and destruction. Attorney Seok emphasized that “the symbol of this era, even former Minister Cho, the symbol of this era, has also helped out.”
