Again Hollywood Reporter reports, Jumanji star Kevin Hart has signed a contract to play Roland in the upcoming Borderlands movie. Negotiations for the deal with the comedian and actor have been going on since December. Now it is certain: Hart will embody Roland in the video game adaptation of the Gearbox shooter.
Hart will portray the Atlas soldier, directed by Eli Roth. Commenting on working with Hart, he said: “Borderlands is a different kind of role for him and we look forward to bringing a side of Kevin to audiences they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be an amazing Roland. “
Roland himself is a playable character of the “Soldier” class in the first part of Borderlands. In the second part of the series, the pre-sequel and the DLC with Tiny Tina, the soldier and weapon connoisseur also plays a role in the story.
