Kevin Conroy, the voice actor who for years played the role of Batman in various films, series and video games, has died. The publisher of Batman DC Comics reports it on Friday. The American died Thursday at the age of 66 after a brief illness.
Starring in the theater early in his career, Conroy made his superhero debut in the TV series in 1992 Batman: the animated series. He later lent his voice to animated films and video games made about the Dark Knight. In a response, series producer Paul Dini says we will miss Conroy a lot. “Kevin is a hero in every sense of the word. Irreplaceable. Eternal.”
Other celebrities are also saddened by the death of the Batman voice actor. “Kevin was perfection,” said Mark Hamill, who voiced Batman’s nemesis Joker. “He was one of my favorite people on the planet and I loved him like a brother. He really cared about those around him. His decency showed in everything he did.”
“Kevin was more than one actor I was lucky enough to work with,” said director Andrea Romano. “His warm heart, his generous smile and his pure love of life will stay with me forever.”
