Royal Family
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was absent from the annual Easter church service as she continues her battle with cancer. The service, which took place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, was attended by other members of the royal family but Middleton and her husband, Prince William, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, chose to celebrate the holiday privately at their Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk.
Ongoing Health Woes
Middleton’s last public appearance was on Christmas 2023 when she attended the morning service with her family. Since then, she has been undergoing treatment for cancer. The severity and type of cancer have not been disclosed, but in a video message, Middleton revealed that the news came as a huge shock to her and her family. She expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from her husband and said they have been focusing on her recovery.
First Major Appearance
On the other hand, King Charles III, who has also been battling cancer since February, made his first major public appearance since his diagnosis at the Easter service. The 75-year-old British monarch, along with his wife, Queen Camilla, greeted fans and waved to the crowds, showing his good spirits. Prince Andrew, his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, and Princess Anne also attended the service.
