Karpe gives away the music income – will improve the situation for refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants

Carp keep the promise to “give away everything”. Every year, the duo will distribute money to projects that improve the situation for refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants.

It reports the rap duo in Social Media , where they also post a picture of the agreement where both transfer the rights to the income from their music to Patel and the Abdelmaguid Foundation, abbreviated to Paf. The first allocation from the fund will be in October 2021.

Chirag Rashmikant Patel and Magdi Omar Ytreeide Abdelmaguid tell this about the promise they made to each other almost nine years ago:

“If at some point in life, against all odds, we own the master rights to all our releases… then we give everything away. Entire catalogs. All income. For the rest of my life and for a while longer. That is our heritage. “

– Of all the projects we have completed so far, this is what we have dreamed of the longest. The promise has also been our fuel in meeting those who have cheated us, exploited us or stolen from us, write Magdi and Chirag, and aim at their years-long conflict with their old record company, which according to DN ended up buying back the rights to their first four releases last year.

– We were born in Norway. We have not worked harder, we do not deserve it anymore and we have not gone from 0 to 100. None of us even know what 0 is. Our parents came here and we got a chance. Giving our catalog back to people who are in the same situation as they were, or with an even more difficult starting point, is a full circle for Karpe. So we keep our promise, it says further in the statement on Facebook.

Every time someone listens to Karpe songs from now on, from the debut «Glasskår» to «SAS PLUS / SAS PUSSY», all the income goes straight to the fund. Once a year, the profits are distributed to small and large projects that will improve the situation for refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants – in Norway and the rest of the world.
