K-19 miracle all over Europe! Is it almost “normal summer”

More and more people are vaccinated in Europe, less and less newly infected and less and less measures. We will have a “largely normal summer,” said Austrian Chancellor Kurz.

Deutsche Welle“described the situation in the favorite destinations of the Germans:

In more and more European countries, the percentage of people vaccinated against coronavirus is rising and the number of new infections is falling. That is why a number of governments have announced a relaxation of anti-epidemic measures. What is the situation in the favorite holiday destinations of the Germans? Where and which measures are dropped?

In the Netherlands, even the “red lanterns” worked
The Dutch government has announced an “end to the lockdown”. On June 5, the indoor premises in the restaurants, as well as the museums and cinemas will open their doors. “We are taking a well-calculated risk,” said Prime Minister Mark Rutte. “If the numbers go up again next week, the situation will change.” However, according to his expert team, this is “unlikely”.

As early as the end of April in the Netherlands, outdoor tables in restaurants and cafes were open. The highly contested ban on leaving was also lifted at the time. Since May, the zoos have been welcoming guests again. Even prostitutes were given the right to work again. However, it is still unclear when the Netherlands will lift the quarantine requirement for those arriving in the country.

Culture in Vienna is awakened by a deep sleep
From July, Austria will once again fill stadiums, concert halls and theaters. The upper limit for event attendees – both outside and inside – will also be dropped. However, attending cultural and sporting events will require a test, vaccine or proof of Kovid-19, and wearing masks will not be mandatory. However, masks will remain mandatory in supermarkets as well as on public transport.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz argues the easing with the favorable development in Austria: the number of newly infected is low, and in the wards for patients with Kovid-19 there are more and more free beds. Due to the rapid pace of the immunization campaign, the situation is not expected to worsen again. Kurz made no secret of his joy that the promise of a “relatively normal summer” would be kept. At the same time, the Ministry of Tourism announced that the number of reservations is at a very good level since the holidays in late May.

“White zones” in Italy
And Italy is loosening restrictions – in some regions of the country, the authorities want to bet on the speedy removal of austerity measures. Next Monday, May 31, the Adriatic region of Molise, the popular holiday island of Sardinia, as well as the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in northeastern Italy will be declared “white areas” due to the calm situation. For example, there will be no evening hours there, and amusement parks and cultural centers will be able to open.

An obligatory condition for participation in various celebrations and mass events will be the presentation of a negative test for coronavirus, full vaccination or spent Kovid-19. The obligation to wear protective masks remains.

Mallorca is “open” to tourists, but with restrictions
More and more hotels are opening on the island of Mallorca. About 300 guest houses – or 40 percent of all – are back in operation. This is an increase of 65 percent over the last two weeks.

Mallorca is waiting for tourists
Although tourism opportunities in the Balearic Islands are growing, tourists there will have to continue to comply with certain rules. Between midnight and 6 am, the ban on going out still applies. The interiors in the restaurants are open only until 6 pm. No more than four customers can sit at one table.

Bulgaria is no longer a risky territory for Germany
Germany makes travel easier for residents of several other European countries. From Sunday, travelers from the Netherlands and Cyprus will be able to enter the Federal Republic with a negative test and thus be released from the mandatory 10-day quarantine.
Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary are completely excluded from the list of risk areas. Those entering from these three countries by car, train or bus do not need to be tested on arrival in Germany. However, those arriving by plane must still provide a negative test result.

And in Germany itself?
In Germany itself, the number of new infections is also declining. The number of patients on a seven-day basis as of Saturday – May 29 – is 37.5 per 100,000. A week ago they were 66.8. In many places, stores are already open without requiring negative tests. And the outdoor areas of restaurants in a number of cities have worked. Many swimming pools, zoos and amusement parks were also opened. However, test requirements vary and change rapidly in different provinces and cities. Wearing masks on public transport and shops remains mandatory.
