Juventus Loss IDR 3.5 Trillion, Still Struggling to Form Super League

Turin

Juventus suffered financial losses in the last year. Unmitigated, the number increased by 134 percent compared to last year.

The report was announced on the official Juventus website, Friday (17/9/2021). During the financial year, i.e. July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021, Juventus suffered a loss of 209.9 million Euros, or around Rp. 3.5 trillion. A more detailed calculation of losses can be seen here.

In the previous year’s books, Juventus had suffered a loss of 89.7 million Euros. This means that Juventus’ losses increased by 120.2 million Euros, or by 134 percent. This is the fourth loss in a row for Juventus.

Sky Sport Italia noted that in the 2017/18 period, the Bianconeri suffered a loss of 19.2 million Euros, followed by minus 39.9 million Euros in the 2018/19 period. If totaled with the last two seasons, then Juventus has suffered a loss of 359.7 million Euros over the last 4 years.

Juventus’ soaring losses cannot be separated from the COVID-19 pandemic that has lasted for the last 1.5 years. Income from various sectors such as match tickets to merchandise is also affected.

Management Juventus also predicts that Juventus will again experience losses in the next year, considering the pandemic situation has not been 100 percent resolved. In addition, the board of directors has agreed to increase the maximum capital of 400 million Euros to the club.

One that is also highlighted in this report is the discussion Juventus about European Super League. It is known, Juventus along with Real Madrid and Barcelona are the three remaining parties who are still insisting on forming the elite league.

The Bianconeri wrote that they could not say for sure how the situation regarding the Super League would develop in the future, but they were “still confident” in the formation of the competition.
