Juventus is currently facing an investigation into the naturalization test case Luis Suarez. Bianconeri confirms Director of Football Fabio Paratici is under investigation.
Juventus had attempted to recruit Luis Suarez this summer from Barcelona. However, because the non-EU player slots are full, The old lady seeks to naturalize Suarez to become an Italian citizen.
Suarez’s wife happens to be of Italian origin and had no trouble passing the language test conducted at the University of Perugia. Meanwhile, Suarez was suspected of having received privileges and special treatment.
Reuters, as disclosed BBC, reported Suarez obtaining the required mid-level qualification in just 15 minutes, after only completing part of the oral exam. The university denies any wrongdoing.
This case was also investigated by local authorities and prosecutors made sure that Juventus acted actively, even at the highest level, to accelerate the naturalization process of Suarez. In order to investigate further, the prosecutor will examine the Director of Football Juventus Fabio Paratici.
Paratici was previously accused of lying to prosecutors regarding this case. Juventus management confirms their belief in Paratici.
“Juventus Football Club confirms that today Fabio Paratici has been informed about guarantees and the right to defend himself,” said an official Juventus statement.
“The club reaffirms the correctness of Paratici’s work and is confident that an ongoing investigation will help clarify his position in the time it takes.”
Luis Suarez in the process canceled his move to Juventus. The Uruguayan player joined Atletico Madrid from Barcelona.
