Justin Timberlake took a shot at his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears during his “One Night Only” birthday concert at Irving Plaza in New York City.

Timberlake addressed the audience before singing his 2002 hit “Cry Me a River,” a song inspired by the pop star’s infidelity during their relationship.

Many people criticized Timberlake on social media for his apparent shade towards Spears, especially since she had recently publicly praised his new single “Selfish.”

Despite the backlash, Timberlake had supporters who defended him, claiming Spears was in the wrong.
