According to the MDR, there were 380 test centers in Thuringia at the peak of February 2022, according to the Ministry of Health. Of these, 255 were independent of medical practices, pharmacies or the public health system. As can be seen from the ministry’s response to a small inquiry, between October 2020 and April 2022 more than 25 million euros were billed for more than six million rapid corona tests at the Thuringia Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.
